About
Matias Ezcurra
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, moved to Massachusetts for the next eight years of my life, and now reside in Kihei, Maui. Factoring in my need for travel, I have lived a life that has allowed me to bring unique perspective to the viewfinder, to capture the bypassed beauty in the lens.
At a young age, I was fascinated by the idea that a thought of mine could translate into a video or image; I gravitated toward my mother’s camcorder, making stop animation films with my action figures. Soon, this pull toward image and film took me to the Gold Coast of Australia for intensive post-production study.
I graduated, with honors, from Bridgewater State University with a degree in media studies. From here, I dove deeper into post-production work in an attempt to find a digital workflow that would create an irresistible finished product. I gained more experience as I worked with professionals such as Michael Warren, John Lawler and Sam Haddix. Employed by BSU, I was hired and flown out to Jordan as a photography director for a documentary project. I have produced videos for Steez Snowboarding Magazine and Apple Inc. I have been involved with media for ten years and shooting professionally for five.
Nomad Visual Productions is the next obvious step in order to fully integrate my passion for shooting with my every day life: I strive to live the beauty that I convey with my media.
